
Wes Kendall, D.Min., President Elect, (Wes) spent thirty nine years as a United Methodist minister serving in Texas, Wyoming and Colorado. He retired in 2005. He earned a Bachelor's, a Master's and doctorate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. His doctoral dissertation was on men's issues and he has turned that concern into two books. He has also led over forty retreats and workshops across the country.
His hobbies include music, hunting, fishing, reading, hiking and writing.
Brian Patrick Leatherman
leads a multifaceted musical life as conductor, teacher, and performer. A fully
certified Orff-Schulwerk teacher, Mr. Leatherman is a vocal/general music
specialist in the Douglas County Colorado schools. This season marks Mr.
Leatherman's 13th year as Artistic Director and Conductor of Denver's Cherry
Creek Chorale. Previous posts have included the Pueblo Chorale and the Douglas
County Children's Chorus. Mr. Leatherman has served on the Board of Directors
of the Colorado Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and the
Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association. He holds the
BME and the MM degree, with emphasis in choral conducting, from Colorado State
University, and cites as his two greatest influences Barbara Grenoble in
pedagogy and Robert Shaw in choral work.
David McLeod, President, works in the Douglas County Schools in the Information Technology Department. He has been a member of Cherry Creek Chorale for four years. He is a certified motorcycle rider coach. In his leisure time, he rides motorcycles and horses.
Lucy Jane
Miller, Ph.D., Member at Large, is the Executive Director of the
Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) Foundation which focuses on research on the
causes and treatment of SPD. She also founded and directs the Sensory Therapies
And Research (STAR) Center, where children, adolescents and adults receive a
combination of occupational therapy and listening therapy for developmental and
behavioral disorders such as ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Motor
Disorders and SPD. Dr. Miller has the only full-time program of research into
Sensory Processing Disorder in the world, funded by NIH, the Wallace Research
Foundation, and individual, corporate and foundation donations. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of CO Denver and a Professor at Rocky Mountain University. Her book, Sensational Kids: Hope and Help for Children with Sensory Processing Disorder (Putnam Press)
was published April 2006.
Michael C. Mosier, Member at
Large, is the Director of Construction Services for T&S
Development and is President of Construction Services of Pegasus Management
Group. He has built over 1000 homes in the past 15 years in the multifamily
housing industry. He also serves on the board of directors for the Douglas
County Children's Chorus, and was a founding member and Vice President of
Bridges Music Ministry.
Ruth Most, Vice-President,
has been singing in choral groups since childhood, including church choirs,
college choirs, symphony choruses and community choruses. She was a charter
member of the Colorado Symphony Chorus, and has joined in summer festivals with
that chorus in Aspen, and with the Cherry Creek Chorale in Breckenridge. She
has enjoyed singing with the Cherry Creek Chorale for 14 years and especially
enjoyed the experience of going to Carnegie Hall with CCC in 1994. Ruth also
sings with a vocal jazz trio, The Perfect Blend, which has broadened her
repertoire from classical to 40's pop and jazz.
Ruth is married and she and Bruce have two adult children,
one of whom is a professional guitarist in New York City. She worked as a
social worker in Cherry Creek Schools and in private family practice for 30
years and is now retired, hoping to see much of the world in her travels.
Mert Nason, Treasurer, is a native of Philadelphia and Princeton NJ. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona where he obtained a BA in History and Musicology. He retired after 30 years with Trans World Airlines, serving at its Manhattan headquarters in corporate marketing, sales and services and finally as the Rocky Mountain area's general sales manager based in Denver. Mert retired as a captain in the United States Navy after 27 years, serving aboard destroyers in the active and reserve forces in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Persian Gulf fleets, as Reserve Commanding Officer of USS Harold J. Ellison (DD864), Destroyer Squadron 30, Philadelphia, as well as posts on the senior command staffs of the Pacific Fleet and Naval Forces, Korea. He is married to Juanita Schiess of Cali, Colombia. They have two sons and 2 grandchildren.
Claudia Parrone
has been working in the fields of education and the arts for 30 years. She is a
certified classroom teacher, grades 4-9. Claudia is currently serving as an
educational consultant, visual artist and lecturer. She is director of Arpana
Aneesha Studios and serves a variety of audiences in a diversity of settings. She exhibits locally and nationally and her weavings have been published in Best of NC Artists and Artisans 2006, and Best in America, Artists and Artisans 2007.
Renee Posey, Secretary, is
a partner at Fisher Associates Architects and Engineers with her brother, Chris
Fisher. The firm specializes in commercial building design and
construction related services. Clients include fire districts, auto
dealerships, schools, churches and government agencies. Renee studied
music therapy at Colorado State University and has enjoyed singing and
performing ever since; she also has studied Business at the University of
Denver. Community involvement has always been a staple in Renee's life,
serving on the Main Street Players Board, the Western Welcome Week Board and the
Board for the Littleton YMCA. However, most of her time is spent raising
her 4-year old daughter and enjoying being a mother.
